  • Dan's Wild Wild Weather Page - for children aged, 6 - 16, this site presents the weather in a simple, fun and friendly manner. Students will find basic information on topics such as el nino / la nina, tornadoes, hurricanes, temperature, and humidity as well as links to other weather sites for more detailed information.
  • El Nino and La Nina Page - From the United States National Weather Service, this site emphasizes the affects of El Niño or La Niña in the San Francisco Bay Area. Includes current advisories and forecasts and reports on the local & global impact of last year's El Nino. Also includes many related links on earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes and other weather related phenomena. Contains extensive technical data as well as maps and charts.

  • Extreme Weather Sourcebook - Created by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), this site offers easy access to data on the economic damage from hurricanes, floods, and tornadoes in the United States and its territories. Time spans for each type of extreme weather vary, with hurricane data covering 1925-95, tornadoes 1950-95, and floods 1983-96; however, all damage data is reported in constant 1997 dollars to simplify comparisons.
